The Spirit Center is a catholic retreat facility embracing people of other faiths. We invite groups that may benefit from our facility and location to contact us for more information.
Why build a new retreat center now?

How can I sign up for a retreat at The Spirit Center?
The Spirit Center does not host retreats itself. We provide facilities for retreat groups such as Journey to Damascus, Walk to Emmaus, ACTS and Marriage Encounter. Please contact the group you wish to join for more information about specific retreats and dates.
How many people to a room? How many rooms are there?
In the Main Complex there will be 48 sleeping rooms each with two extra-long twin beds and private baths.
The Youth Complex will house 96 in bunk beds with communal bathrooms.
Do we have to bring our own sheets and blankets?

Is The Spirit Center equipped to accommodate those with disabilities?
The Spirit Center has a limited number of ADA compliant bedrooms available. The facility will meet or exceed all ADA requirements in the other areas.
Do we have to provide our own meals?
The kitchen has been specially designed for cook teams. Other catering can be arranged.
Can we cook and dine outside?
There will be an outdoor kitchen with room for a BBQ pit and seating for up to 100 in the outdoor pavilion, just a few steps away.
Will there be opportunities for school groups to spend time during school hours for retreats, meetings, or field trips?
On Monday through Thursday, the Center will be available for day use between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. for teachers meetings, class retreats, field trips covering science, art, photograply, language arts, etc.
Many civic groups within the area use The Spirit Center for planning meetings, in-service, or other planned group activity?

Why doesn't the Diocese build and maintain The Spirit Center?
The Spirit Center is a Catholic Retreat facility embracing people of other faiths. Although we be used by many Catholic (and other) groups, and fall under the Catholic Directory as a not-for-profit 501(c) 3, we are not part of the Diocese of Corpus Christi. The FBNRC Board of Directors working with the Sisters of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament will operate the Spirit Center.
